General Note: If you have any trouble understanding anything in this assignment, please do not
hesitate to ask. You are more than welcome to ask any type of clarification questions, even about
what specific words mean!
Math Note: There are bunch of numbers in this homework. Please be careful (double check)
your math and calculator operations!
Data Set A Background (For Question 4):
According to the food and drug administration (FDA), markets can be rated on whether they
provide a significant amount of healthy food or not. This number is represented as the number of
stores out of 100 stores that carry healthy food. So, if a neighborhood has a rating of 54, this
means that 54 out of every 100 markets in that neighborhood carry healthy food as defined by
the FDA.
Below is data showing information on markets for 26 different neighborhoods. These
neighborhoods are separate as being consider High or Low income as defined by the 2010
census.
Data Set A:
Low Income Neighborhoods: 15, 30, 30, 21, 14, 52, 27, 28, 42, 66, 50, 33
High Income Neighborhoods: 90, 77, 84, 85, 67, 79, 60, 53, 53, 65, 58, 90, 62
Data Set B Background (For Question 5):
The numbers given below represent the amount of time (in minutes) spent on social media sites
each day. This is inclusive across all forms of social media and access types. This data represents
a sample of 14 individuals between the ages of 16 and 36.
Data Set B:
Minutes Spent on Social Media per Day: 140,147,149,166,13, 197,139,133,167,105,167, 24,
177, 166
